We provide world-class mission-oriented research and education as well as service-oriented knowledge and technology transfer in the core 4RI topics to benefit society, industry and politics.

We develop, build and operate internationally leading research infrastructures, measurement networks and technology, data and information platforms and make them available to broad user communities from both academia and industry.

Together with our stakeholders, we enable the implementation of science-based solutions to societal challenges and fulfil the national tasks and services entrusted to us by the Swiss government to benefit society.
Research institutes of the ETH Domain strengthen cooperation in strategic areas
Energy transition, climate change, biodiversity and resource scarcity – today's challenges are complex, and the clock is ticking. So these days joining forces and working together ever more closely is the name of the game. This is exactly what the four research institutes of the ETH Domain – Empa, Eawag, WSL and PSI – are doing. With cooperation platforms and joint projects, the four institutes are positioning themselves even more clearly than before as THE bridge between research and innovative solutions for today's challenges.
