Health is a research area with growing societal significance. The four Research Institutes have a lot of research activities on the different aspects of “Health”. Their research activities are focused on the following strategic topics (with their research projects):

• Prevention and early diagnosis: sanitation and autonomous sanitation solutions, wastewater monitoring, drinking water treatment, wearables and biosensors, imaging procedures, stress and recovery

• Applied biomedical research: proton therapy, theranostics, drug development, mechano-genomics, nanomedicine, integration of research and clinical application

• Fundamental research in bio science: structural biology, multiscale imaging: from atom to organism, optogenetics, cellular mechanics and biophysical processes, innovative imaging and analysis platforms
