Climate portfolio of the four Research Institutes

Climate is a research area with growing societal significance. The four Research Institutes have many research activities on the different aspects of “Climate”. Their research activities are focused on the following strategic topics (with their research projects):

Ecosystems / healthy environment: biodiversity, environmental monitoring and management, air quality, life cycle analyses, ecosystem services, substitution of environmentally harmful substances, multifunctional landscapes
Climate Change: monitoring the atmosphere and biosphere, mitigation, adaptation, carbon capture and utilization

Mission and aims of the ENRICH stream “Climate”

The overall mission of the ENRICH stream “Climate” is to coordinate the different activities of the 4RI, to bundle forces and to increase impact for Switzerland and society.

The overall aims are:

To increase the impact of 4RI (+ ETH domain) activities in climate adaptation
To integrate the “next layer” implementation partners (politics, economics, media, …)
To coordinate activities with SCENE and Climate Solutions Hub
